Okay, basketball time.

Today’s Lineup

☘️ Don’t Go To Boston…
The Celtics are STILL undefeated at home.
👑 HUGE Performances
Keegan Murray and Jalen Brunson both went off.
😴 Unsung Heroes
This Phoenix guard is all over the place!

Sunday’s Slate

Celtics stay sizzling, beat Magic 114-97

Orlando (16-9) used a heavy dose of Paolo Banchero (19 1Q PTS) early on in this one to take the lead, but Boston (20-5) settled in and pulled away thanks to a 20-point second half from Jaylen Brown. Boston is 14-0 at TD Garden and 20-5 overall, and they have the league’s second-best net rating. Pure dominance.

Pelicans cruise past Spurs 146-110

That’s a lot of points. New Orleans (16-11) dominated from the tipoff en route to its fourth straight win with Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum carrying the load. San Antonio’s win streak sadly ends at one.

Lillard leads Bucks past Rockets, 128-119

Milwaukee (19-7) officially looks like the offensive juggernaut we thought they’d be this season, because Damian Lillard (39 PTS, 11 REB) reminded everyone who he is. Houston (13-10) had won five straight, but they fall to 2-9 on the road after this one.

Suns hold off Wizards 112-108 thanks to late Durant poster

This is about as electric of a dagger as you’ll see. That Kevin Durant (28 PTS) shot put Phoenix (14-12) over the top against Washington (4-21), who got a monster game from Daniel Gafford (28 PTS, 16 AST).

Warriors hold off Blazers 118-114 as Steph’s streak ends

Sort of a good news/bad news situation for Golden State (12-14). The good news? They beat Portland (6-19). The bad news? Steph Curry didn’t hit a three-pointer for the first time since 2018, ending his streak of 268 games.

Murray Goes Mad

Sometimes a stat line makes you question whether or not you’re dreaming, and Keegan Murray’s line on Saturday of 47 points and 8 rebounds on 16/23 from the field and 12/15 from 3PT was certainly one of those times. Murray is an incredible young player, but this still came out of nowhere. Major props to the former Hawkeye!

Weekend Wrap-Up

  • You know it was a wild hoops weekend when a 12/15 shooting performance was only maybe the most impressive shooting display in the league. Jalen Brunson went 9/9 from deep (that’s 100%, btw) on Friday against the Suns en route to a 50-point performance.

  • San Antonio… won! The Spurs broke their 17-game losing streak on Friday, beating LA 129-115 thanks to 36 from Devin Vassell.

  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is COLD. OKC got an impressive road win at Denver thanks to SGA’s heroics in the waning seconds. These Thunder are hungry.

  • Minnesota is legit. Karl-Anthony Towns dropped 40 to help the Wolves improve to a conference-best 19-5. They’re having fun out there in Minneapolis.

Unsung Heroes: Jordan Goodwin

We are 100th-percentile Jordan Goodwin fans over here at Enjoy Basketball, but you might not understand why by looking at his raw numbers.

The third-year guard is averaging 6.4 rebounds, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in just over 18 minutes per game. But he’s not out there to put up big numbers—Phoenix has plenty of guys who do that. Instead, he’s out there to make plays like you see below. Goodwin is a key cog in Phoenix’s postseason hopes.

Hey, whatever works.

🤯 Scoot can SOAR!
The rookie is finding his footing in Portland.

😮‍💨 Jalen Williamsthat’s super tough.
The shot before the SGA winner.

What We’re Enjoying

The Boy and The Heron: New Studio Ghibli movie! Everybody stay calm! Just kidding, we’re not staying calm so we don’t expect you to either. The studio that produced Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke and more classics might have just made another classic. Poignant and heartbreaking, The Boy and The Heron is a must-watch.
