Luka and Giannis Shatter Scoring Records

What happened: In EuroBasket, Europe's championship hoops tournament held every 4 years, Giannis Antetokounmpo put up a legendary 41 points just for Luka Doncic to top him with 47 points a day later.

Luka Magic: Following up a remarkable 36-point performance against Germany, Doncic poured in an insane 47 points against Rudy Gobert and France. To stress how historic this performance was in international play, only Eddy Terrace (WHO?) has scored more points (63) in a single EuroBasket game - and it happened back in freakin' 1957.

Draining contested shot after contested shot, this man Luka might be a wanted man in Paris after how he embarrassed these guys:

Greek God: A day earlier, the Greek Freak dropped a dominant 41 points in just 27 minutes (wow) for a Greece in a win over Ukraine. Before Luka did his thing, Antetokounmpo's point total was the most in a EuroBasket game since Dirk Nowitzki had 43 for Germany in 2001. Ever the humble guy, The Greek Freak just nodded upon learning of this:

“I try not to rate my performance. I just try to go out there and have fun as much as possible, try to focus as much as I can on what I can control, try to bring energy any way possible. ... But I’ll say this: I think this is one of the years where I feel very, very excited to go out there on the court and play with my teammates.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Frankly, he looked like a man amongst boys. They simply could not prevent Giannis from powering his way to the paint and slamming it home. Giving Shaq vibes with that #34 honestly...

The Joker Laughs: Additionally, two-time reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic scored 29 points on 11-13 shooting for Serbia against Israel. You know how Jokic usually plays with a mystifying sense of ease? Like he's almost not trying? Well, dial that vibe up to 11 for this enthralling performance:

Praise: These are three of the top five-ish players in the NBA. While American NBA superstars are playing pickup runs in New York or LA, this trio continues to put their body through the ringer for their native countries' glory. While every NBA player works hard in the offseason, it's admirable that these guys, with their millions of dollars and fans, still spend their summers back in Europe playing for their nation.
