Trade Season Has Begun!

Knicks snag Mikal Bridges in a crosstown coup

Knicks receive: Mikal Bridges

Nets receive: Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected future firsts, one protected future first via Milwaukee, an unprotected future pick swap, and a second-rounder

Josh Hart finally got his guy! After months and months of remaining steadfast that they would keep Mikal Bridges as part of their long-term rebuilding efforts, the Nets finally cracked when presented with a boatload of picks from their friends across the East River.

While Brooklyn can now start their new era in earnest, the Knicks have finally assembled what seems to be the last piece of their ultimate Villanova superteam. If OG Anunoby re-signs as well, NY might just have the wing defenders to go toe-to-toe with the Celtics in the East for years to come.

Rockets complete intriguing pick swap with Nets

Caught up in the chaos of the Knicks forming a super squad in the Big Apple, Houston and Brooklyn got busy switching and swapping some of their many future firsts. Here’s the details:

Rockets receive: 2027 Phoenix first-round pick, 2025 pick swap between Houston/OKC and Phoenix

Nets receive: 2026 Nets first-round pick (Houston also relinquished their pick swap with Nets’ 2025 first-round pick)

Brooklyn traded what might end up being a highly valuable Phoenix first-rounder to regain control of some of their draft assets. But for Houston, this trade might be an early warning sign of a seismic shift in the Western Conference landscape. 👀

The 2024 EB Community Mock Draft

Welcome back, everyone, to our favorite newsletter of the year! Over the weekend, 30 Enjoyers engaged in heated negotiations to give you the most chaotic and entertaining mock draft of all time, complete with superstar trades, major team overhauls, and plenty of shenanigans. Let’s get into it! ⬇️

1. Atlanta (@austin_alkire) - Alex Sarr

Sarr seems to project as a four long-term, and being paired with Trae Young will help bring out the best in him offensively. His defense will certainly help the Hawks as well, assuming he improves his rebounding and footwork in the paint.

2. Washington (@colincsalao) - Zaccharie Risacher

The Wizards already have a pair of young wings, but teams can never have enough of them in a league where positional versatility is valuable. Risacher, Bilal Coulibaly, and Deni Avdija make up an intriguing young core to run with Cooper Flagg (or Paige Bueckers) next year in the nation's capital.

3. Houston (@HoopIMust) - Donovan Clingan

It looks like Houston might be going for another center here, but just wait…

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade the rights to PF/C Alex Sarr, taken first overall in this year’s draft, to the Houston Rockets in exchange for C Donovan Clingan, taken third overall in this year’s draft, a 2025 first-round pick via BKN, HOU, or OKC, and Houston’s own 2026 2nd round pick.

With knowledge of Sarr’s rumored disinterest in coming to the ATL, the Hawks will still pair a potential elite defensive big with Trae Young by the name of Donovan Clingan. And as an excellent weak-side rim protector with some floor spacing potential, Sarr should slot in perfectly at the 4 next to Sengun, where he should be able to help cover up the Turkish center’s defensive limitations.

4. San Antonio (@NBA_QuachBoy) - Matas Buzelis - Traded to POR

San Antonio goes for an upside wing with this one, but sources are saying we have TWO trades. We told y’all this would get crazy!

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Detroit Pistons are sending the 5th overall pick to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Jerami Grant and the 18th pick (from the Magic)

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Portland Trail Blazers are then sending the 5th overall pick, Robert Williams III, and Dalano Banton to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Matas Buzelis and Devonte Graham.

As a potential two-way scoring wing with self-creation ability, Matas Buzelis was always the target for Portland, especially if his solid shooting form translates into more tangible results. While the Blazers did have to pay a bit extra after San Antonio swiped him at #4, Portland walks away with one of the highest-upside players in the draft.

5. Portland (@spencp99) - Reed Sheppard - Traded to SAS

San Antonio’s objective coming into this draft was to flesh out a competitive roster around Victor Wembanyama, one that could both help lead a playoff push as early as next season and grow alongside the French phenom. Sheppard has pro-ready skills on both ends of the court, can play on the ball or off of Wemby, and has the athleticism to grow into a future star.

6. Charlotte (@bdrip1k) - Ron Holland

Ron is a freak athlete, has upside to be a great perimeter defender, is good at getting to the rim in the half court, and can create his own shot off the dribble. His concerns are his jumper and passing, but even if Ron only fixes the jumper there is definitely two-way All-Star upside.

7. Portland (@spencp99) - Dalton Knecht

The Blazers were a lowly 28th in the league in 3PM last season and 30th in percentage. What better way to alleviate that than by snagging one of the most pro-ready players in this class who just so happens to be an elite shooter? Dalton Knecht is a downright sniper who showed out with great vertical + agility numbers at the combine.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Cavaliers trade Darius Garland, the 20th overall pick, Ty Jerome and Georges Niang in return for the 8th overall pick, Zach Collins, Keldon Johnson and Julian Champagnie.

8. Cleveland (@NoahSausville) - Devin Carter

After trading away Darius Garland and with a versatile defense-first guard like Carter on the board, it’s a simple no-brainer for a Spida replacement.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: Memphis is trading the 9th pick, Brandon Clarke and John Konchar to the Raptors for the 19th pick and Jakob Poeltl

9. Toronto (@JJBuckets17) - Nikola Topic

There are some concerns with Topic regarding his ACL injury and measurements, but his advanced feel for the game is hard to ignore. If Toronto’s coaching staff helps him develop a consistent perimeter shot, he could wind up as the best player in this class.

10. Utah (@wariswhack) - Stephon Castle

A tall, defensive-minded guard is a perfect fit for the Jazz. Castle’s defensive ability and stature will allow him to coexist on the court with guards Keyonte George and Collin Sexton, and with high potential in many aspects of the game, Castle could develop into an all-around long-term starter for Utah.

11. Chicago (@austinzeglis) - Cody Williams

The Bulls snag a great two-way player here in their attempt to get out of NBA purgatory. Williams is an athletic wing that would gel well next to the rest of Chicago’s young core like Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, and Patrick Williams.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The OKC Thunder are trading the 12th overall pick, Philadelphia's 2025 first-round pick (top 6 protected), Lu Dort & Aaron Wiggins to the Brooklyn Nets for Mikal Bridges

12. Brooklyn (@lereascouting) - Tidjane Salaun

After hitting the reset button and sending Mikal Bridges packing, Brooklyn looks towards their future by selecting raw athletic forward Tidjane Salaun. The 6’9 wing excels in transition and has all the tools to be an excellent 3&D wing.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Bulls trade Zach LaVine and Dalen Terry to the Sacramento Kings for Harrison Barnes, Kevin Huerter, Davion Mitchell, Kessler Edwards, the 13th pick in the 2024 Draft, and Sacramento’s 2026 first-round pick.

13. Chicago (@austinzeglis) - Rob Dillingham

At the risk of flooding their guard room, the Bulls pick up a high-upside player here at 13 in Dillingham. One of the best shooters in the class, the Kentucky product should help alleviate some of Chicago’s three-point shooting woes.

🚨 Trade Alert 🚨: The Portland Trail Blazers are trading the 14th overall pick to the Atlanta Hawks for the 18th pick (via Detroit), Sacramento’s 2025 1st round pick (top 12 protected), and the Timberwolves 2025 2nd round pick.

14. Atlanta (@austin_alkire) - Bub Carrington

The Hawks move up four spots and add a highly-skilled playmaker whose basketball IQ has impressed scouts across the league. At 6’4”, he adds size to a smaller Atlanta backcourt while also having the potential to lead a second unit and add scoring off of the bench alongside Kobe Bufkin.

15. Miami (@KHeiserCBB) - Isaiah Collier

Once viewed as the top prospect in the class, the Heat trust that their development staff can get the most out of him and iron out his bad habits while also bolstering their guard depth.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Golden State Warriors trade Moses Moody and Atlanta's 2026 second-rounder for the 16th overall pick from the Philadelphia 76ers.

16. Golden State (@NoahButlerLJ) - Kel’el Ware

After moving Moody, the Warriors focus their sights on a big man with length, athleticism, and shooting in Ware. He will join fellow Hoosier Trayce Jackson-Davis as the Warriors look to build upon their young core in preparation for the post-Splash Bro years.

17. Los Angeles Lakers (@tarikdugum) - Tristan Da Silva

Da Silva’s age and offensive versatility should provide some consistency for the Lakers, who will be under nationwide scrutiny (as always) under new head coach JJ Redick.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Orlando Magic and Portland Trail Blazers have agreed on a trade that sends Anfernee Simons to Orlando for Anthony Black, the 18th pick in the 2024 NBA draft, and the Denver Nuggets 2025 1st round pick.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: Detroit traded pick No. 18 and two 2027 2nd rounders (one from BKN or DAL, and one their own) to the Atlanta Hawks for Bogdan Bogdanovic and AJ Griffin.

A word from Detroit (@thepenofeli): Anyone who watched the Pistons last year knows they need A TON of help. I decided that I wasn't fully sold on any prospects that might be available at 5, and the best route forward was to shop picks and add as much wing versatility as possible.

18. Portland (@spencp99) - Zach Edey

Why not take a chance on one of the most statistically dominant college players this century? For all the questions about Zach Edey’s fit in the pro game, he produced at an unbelievable level throughout his time at Purdue and has the potential to wreak havoc in 15-20 minutes a night behind DeAndre Ayton.

💥 NUCLEAR-LEVEL TRADE ALERT💥: The Phoenix Suns are trading KEVIN DURANT to the Memphis Grizzlies for Marcus Smart, Vince Williams, Zaire Williams, Luke Kennard, Derrick Rose, 3 firsts (#19, 2026 via ORL & 2030 via WAS or PHX) & 5 seconds (#39, 2025, 2026 via LAC, 2027 via ATL, 2030, 2030 via DAL). NOTE: Yuta Watanabe PO declined to complete deal.

19. Phoenix (@jacob_seliga) - DaRon Holmes II

Phoenix entered this draft needing multiple things: an athletic wing, a point guard, and a backup big. Following their splash trade, they filled two of those holes and will fill another right here with the pick of the hometown kid in Holmes. DaRon is a versatile 4/5 who can bring an instant impact on both ends of the court.

🚨 TRADE ALERT 🚨: The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired the 20th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft in a three-team deal with the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons. Philadelphia is sending recently acquired forward John Collins (more on that later) to Detroit along with two future second-round picks in exchange for forward Isaiah Stewart while guard Quentin Grimes will be heading to San Antonio for the 20th pick.

20. Philadelphia (@CiavoNBA) - Jared McCain

Philadelphia lands Jared McCain with the 20th pick, one of the top shooters in this class with a prolific shot profile from deep and elite skill potential as a shooter moving forward.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: Atlanta trades Dejounte Murray, Clint Capela, and a 2026 2nd via Memphis to New Orleans for Herb Jones, Dyson Daniels, and the 21st overall pick.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Brooklyn Nets have traded Cam Johnson, a 2029 2nd via DAL, and a 2029 2nd via BKN to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for De’Andre Hunter and the 21st overall pick via NO

21. Brooklyn (@lereascouting) - Yves Missi

While only playing basketball for five years, Missi has all the traits teams look for in an athletic big who can finish plays above the rim on both ends of the floor.

22. Phoenix (@jacob_seliga) - Ryan Dunn

New head coach Mike Budenholzer’s teams have historically been three-point-heavy and defensive-first teams. With upgraded shooting throughout the roster, the Suns’ defensive identity continues to be built as Phoenix take the best defender in the class in Dunn.

23. Milwaukee (@finleykuehl) - Adem Bona

The Bucks needs a five man who can open up multiple possibilities scheme-wise, and outside of Alex Sarr, Bona is the big in this class most capable of doing that. He’s also bouncy and plays with a relentless motor, which would be refreshing on an old and stiff Bucks roster.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: Minnesota acquires the 24th pick in a slight trade-up with the New York Knicks and sends the Knicks the 27th pick, a 2026 2nd, and a 2027 2nd.

24. Minnesota (@dylantaylor23) - Baylor Scheierman

Scheierman brings shooting and scoring off the bench to a team that desperately needs it. His defensive weaknesses can be somewhat hidden when he is surrounded by defenders like Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

25. New York (@ConorGeelanNBA) - Tyler Kolek

We’re not saying Tyler Kolek is going to be an All-NBA player like Brunson, but the similarities are there… both entered the draft as lefty upperclassmen point guards with successful Big East careers who, despite being undersized, use their change of pace and direction to get to the cup and finish below the rim, and can make defenses pay if left open from behind the arc.

26. Washington (@colincsalao) - Bronny James

This is the first time in history a GM admits that he made a pick for money > talent. Let's be real: No one watches the Wizards. We need viewers. He won't play, but he'll put butts in seats.

🚨Trade Alert🚨: New York trades the 27th pick to New Orleans in exchange for a 2026 first, and a 2026 second (MEM via ATL).

27. New Orleans (@NBASimpson) - Kevin McCullar Jr.

McCullar has the defensive skills to guard nearly any position, which is exactly the versatility that New Orleans needs. Furthermore, his offensive game took quite the leap in his senior season, as he averaged over 18 PPG and finished the season with multiple triple-doubles.

28. Denver (@WfromDeBall) - Ja’Kobe Walter

One of the highest-upside shooting guards in this class, Walter will have time to develop as the Nuggets continue to compete over the next few years.

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired the 29th overall pick from the Utah Jazz along with John Collins and Omer Yurtseven in exchange for Paul Reed, a 2027 second-round pick (via PHI) and a protected 2028 second-round pick (via DET)

🚨BIG TRADE ALERT🚨: The New Orleans Pelicans are making their second blockbuster trade of the day, sending Brandon Ingram to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for this year’s 29th overall pick, a 2026 first (OKC), a 2026 swap, and a 2028 unprotected first (PHI).

🚨TRADE ALERT🚨: New Orleans sends the 29th pick and Larry Nance to Utah in exchange for Jordan Clarkson and Darius Bazley.

29. Utah (@wariswhack) - Bobi Klintman

With John Collins gone in this fantasy world, Bobi Klintman can come in and carve out a role on the bench immediately. At 21 years old, Klintman has shown flashes of high-level defensive potential and a decently consistent offense from all over the court.

30. Boston (@EamonCassels) - Jaylon Tyson

The recent NBA champs don’t have any clear roster needs, but adding a versatile forward is never a bad idea. Tyson has a well-rounded skillset as a finisher, defender, rebounder, shooter, and secondary playmaker.
