šŸ€ Anthony Davis. Unstoppable.

Plus, an unorthodox rookie...

We really canā€™t blame you if you were watching college hoops all weekend, especially with Caitlin Clark doing things like this. So in case you missed some NBA action, weā€™re here to help.

Anthony Davis goes supernova, Lakers beat Wolves 120-109

When AD is in attack mode, there are very few people who can impact a game as thoroughly as he can. 27 points, 25 rebounds, five assists, seven steals, three blocksā€”total domination on both ends. Los Angeles (36-30) is now six games over .500 for the first time this season. No reason to panic for the Timberwolves (44-21), who were missing multiple rotation pieces in this game.

Bucks spam Dame + Giannis late, beat Clippers 124-117

And honestly, why would they do anything different? A huge day from the Bucksā€™ (42-23) stars powered the team to a win over a depleted Clippers (41-22) squad. Norman Powell had 26 off the bench for LA.

Pacers beat Magic 111-97 in important East seeding game

Orlando (37-28) had a two-game lead over Indiana (36-29) in the Eastern Conference playoff picture before this game, but after a massive third quarter led Indiana to victory last night, the lead is down to one. The East is getting tight!

Sixers squeak by Knicks 79-73 in low-scoring affair

No, your eyes do not deceive you. An NBA game really ended 79-73 in the year 2024. Philadelphia (36-28) and New York (37-27) both shot well under 40% from the fieldā€¦ maybe we donā€™t miss early 2000s basketball after all.

Elsewhere around the Associationā€¦
  • New Orleans (39-25) just keeps trucking along quietly. The Pels got 28 from Trey Murphy and handled the Hawks (29-35) in Atlanta, 116-103.

  • Houston (30-35) used a huge third quarter to beat Sacramento (36-28), but the Rockets may have suffered a loss in the process. Alperen Sengun had to leave the game in a wheelchair after landing on his leg.

  • Donā€™t let the Wizards (11-53) get hot! Washington has rattled off two victories in a row after 16 straight losses, and its 110-108 win against Miami (35-29) on Sunday is its first on the road sinceā€¦ January.

  • Brooklyn (26-39) just lost to Charlotte and Detroitā€¦ and then beat Cleveland 120-101 last night. We donā€™t understand the NBA either.

  • 13 different players scored for Oklahoma City (45-19) in its 124-93 win over Memphis. Thatā€™s usually a sign that things went well.

Weekend Wrap-Up

  • DominAyton sighting! The Blazersā€™ big man scored 30 points and grabbed 19 boards in Portlandā€™s win over Toronto.

  • A giant Jarrett Allen game (33 & 18) powered Cleveland to a W against Minnesota. Spida approves:

  • Signs of life from Atlanta? Dejounte Murray scored 41 in a W against Memphis. Thatā€™s three straight for the Hawks.

  • This might be the dunk of the yearā€”Jalen GreenĀ did something borderline illegal in Portlandā€¦

Unsung Heroes: Vasilije Micic

VasilijeĀ Micic was definitely not the biggest name dealt at the trade deadline, but the 30 year-old rookie has found a rhythm in Charlotte. Averaging 10.3 points and dishing 5.8 assists per game, Micic has been a steadying force among Charlotteā€™s inexperienced roster. After only one double-digit scoring night in OKC, Micic has recorded nine of them in 13 games with the Hornets.

What Weā€™re Enjoying

Dune: Part Two: If youā€™re somehow unaware that the second installment of Dune is in theaters nowā€¦ thatā€™s okay, we guess. But you should go see it. From the massive, sprawling score to incredible acting performances all around and one of the most impressive looking sci-fi worlds in recent memory, this movie is a force.
