A FULL DAY OF NBA BASKETBALL

Sorry for yelling, we’re just really excited. It’s been a while. We’ll give you some rapid-fire headlines from the first full-ish NBA slate we’ve had in months.

Young guns: MarJon Beauchamp (18 PTS) showed his smooth scoring ability for Milwaukee, Pistons rookie Ausar Thompson hit a clutch three and looked very comfortable (12 PTS, 10 REB, 6 AST), and Jaden Springer met Jayson Tatum at the summit…goodness.

Did he play? James Harden edition: No. But he did warm up, so that’s…something? Harden doesn’t appear to have changed his stance on a trade request to the Clippers, so for now, we simply wait.

New uni’s: Kristaps Porzingis appears to Enjoy being a Celtic, and Grayson Allen (18 PTS) might be an X-factor in Phoenix.

Aces Dominate Second Half, Take 1-0 Finals Lead

First half vibes: Marine Johannes hits one-legged three-pointers as the Liberty take a lead into halftime.

Second half vibes: Las Vegas forms together to become one symbiotic basketball-playing machine and outscores NY by 20, winning Game 1 99-82.

The House was rocking. A’ja Wilson was also getting tough buckets (as she does), and Jackie Young was just getting all buckets…as she does. New York’s star backcourt struggled (Vandersloot 4/11 FG, Ionescu 2/7 FG), and they’ll need to get back to their normal form if NY wants to get back in this series.

Frozen Moments

What We’re Enjoying

Martin Scorsese Breaks Down His Most Iconic Movies: We could listen to Martin Scorsese talk about the work that went into creating some of the greatest films of all time for hours on end. With his newest movie, Killers of The Flower Moon, set to his theaters later this month, take a little time to appreciate one of the greatest living directors. Whoever booked this at GQ deserves a raise.

And that’ll do. Huge thanks to all of you for riding with us throughout the offseason when content was, uh, tougher to come by. Now we’re in contentland for the next many months, but still try to unplug every once in a while. Your brain (and eyes) will thank you. Talk soon!

Trivia Answer: The most preseason points ever? Vince Carter. It makes sense, considering he played for like, six decades.
