Game Recaps

Hornets remain hot, hit 26 threes in 134-90 route of Kings

The Charlotte Hornets continue to be all the buzz in the NBA world. 🗣️

After starting the season 15-27, the Hornets have won a remarkable 23 of their last 30 games, primarily in dominate fashion. Tuesday night was no different, as Charlotte knocked down 26 threes, tying a franchise record for the most in a single game.

Of those 26, LaMelo Ball (6/13 3PT) and Coby White (6/8 3PT) did the majority of the damage to the Kings defense. White also ended with 27 points in just 18 minutes, living up to the sixth man spark plug expectation placed on him when he was traded to Charlotte at the deadline.

Speaking of threes, LaMelo (20 PTS, 6 REB, 8 AST) moved into second place for most made threes in Hornets history! Quite the big accomplishment for a guy who’s only in his sixth season: 😎

With the win, Charlotte moves into a tie for 9th in the East with Miami, and is just one game back of 7th. Grab your popcorn, the Eastern Conference play-in race to close the season is going to be a MOVIE. 🍿

Daniss Jenkins goes off for 30 Points, Pistons End Lakers’ 9 game winning streak in 113-110 win

With Cade Cunningham currently sidelined, it has to be next man up for the Pistons. On Monday night, that next man up was Daniss Jenkins.

It’s impossible not to love the Daniss Jenkins story. After going undrafted in 2024, his pro future was hanging in the balance. Now, in 2026, he's dropping 30 points for the number one team in the east, and is doing it on the same court as LeBron James and Luka Doncić.

Jenkins single-handedly staved off the Lakers’ furious rally in the fourth, as he scored six points in the final minute of regulation, including this tough fallaway jumper to put Detroit back up one:

The Pistons also got a big game from their All-Star Jalen Duren (20 PTS, 11 REB) and Duncan Robinson ended with 12 points on four made threes. The win further separates Detroit from the Celtics by five games for the number one seed, and are getting very close to clinching that top spot for good.

For the Lakers, they were so close to storming back in this one and winning another clutch game to keep their win streak alive, but Daniss Jenkins had other plans. After going scoreless in the first half for just the third time in his career, LeBron finished with 12 points, 10 boards, and nine assists, while Luka ended with 32 points, 7 rebounds and six dimes on a somewhat off shooting night…

Elsewhere around the NBA:

  • The recent win streaks from the Hawks and Thunder have been all the noise, but don’t sleep on the city that never sleeps! The Knicks win their seventh in a row on Tuesday in their 121-116 win over the Pels. While we’re on the number seven, New York had seven players end the game in double figures, led by Jalen Brunson’s 32 points. Talk about strength in numbers!

  • If you’re looking for clutch shots, look no further than the Bulls-Rockets game from Monday night. The end of this game was filled with haymaker after haymaker late in the fourth, after Houston stormed all the way back from a 20 point deficit led by KD (40 PTS). Durant’s 40-piece wasn’t enough for H-town though, as the Bulls hold on to win 132-124 led by Collin Sexton’s 25 points off the bench!

  • Monday night was a big one for OKC’s Jared McCain. The former Sixer made his return to Philly, and was able to help his Thunder win their 12th consecutive game in their 123-103 blowout win. McCain (13 PTS) had a sequence of hitting back to back threes in the first half, and you could see how much this one meant for him. J-Dub dropped 18 in his return, as OKC was able to overcome a huge outing from rookie VJ Edgecombe (35 PTS).

NBA Injury Report

Moses Moody out for remainder of season with Torn Patellar Tendon in Left Knee

Injuries are unfortunately part of the game, but you never want to see guys get hurt. Especially a guy like Moses Moody, who suffered a season ending knee injury on Monday night in the midst of a career season:

Moody suffered the non-contact injury late in GSW’s OT loss against the Mavs on Monday. It’s a huge loss for a Warriors team that has already been playing without Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. It’s expected to be a long road to recovery for the former 2021 lottery pick, but we know he’s going to come back a better player!

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Moses! 🙏

Wayback Wednesday

If the first weekend of March Madness was any indicator, the Sweet Sixteen matchups that start tomorrow will bring the FIRE.

On this week’s edition of Wayback Wednesday, let’s take a look back at three of the best Sweet Sixteen matchups in recent tournament history!

  • (2) UCLA vs (3) Gonzaga, 2006: The ‘06 Sweet Sixteen matchup between UCLA and Gonzaga remains one of the greatest tournament games ever played. UCLA, led by four future NBA players on its roster (Arron Afflalo, Darren Collison, Luc Mbah a Moute, Jordan Farmar) trailed by as many as 17 late in the first half to Adam Morrison’s Gonzaga squad. Down by one with less than 10 seconds to go, Farmar stole the ball and UCLA converted on the go ahead layup to complete their incredible comeback, ending the historic college career of Adam Morrison in emotional fashion.

  • (4) Michigan vs (1) Kansas, 2013: Michigan’s run to the 2013 National Championship game wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for their upset over top-seeded Kansas in the Sweet Sixteen. The Wolverines pulled off the stunner 67-65 upset in OT after Trey Burke, who went scoreless in the first half, hit one of the most iconic shots the tourney has ever seen, a 30 foot contested triple to force overtime. The Big Ten player of the year from that season scored all 23 of his points in the second half/OT, and Michigan pulled off the shocker in a tournament classic.

  • (10) Davidson vs (3) Wisconsin, 2008: Before Steph Curry was making history in the NBA, he made a name for himself in college playing for mid-major Davidson. The 2008 tourney was Steph’s true coming out party on a national stage. As a number 10 seed, Davidson wasn’t even supposed to be in this position in the first place, but they begin their cinderella run by knocking off higher seeds Gonzaga and Georgetown in the first two rounds. Many wondered if Davidson’s wild ride would end in the S16 against Wisconsin, but Curry made sure that didn’t happen. He put up 33 points in a surprisingly dominate 72-56 win over the Badgers to advance to the Elite 8!

Here’s a look of Steph’s ridiculous buckets from this game, we HIGHLY recommend giving it a watch: 😱
