A Star is Born ⭐
Every few years, a prospect comes around with a runaway freight train of hype. From LeBron and AD to Zion and Wemby, these are the type of guys with near-mythical reputations before they even touch an NBA court.
And after what may go down as a legendary scrimmage performance versus Team USA, could Cooper Flagg join that group?

The twitchy 6’8” forward out of Maine has been near the top of many scouts’ 2025 big board for years, but Flagg truly announced himself on the national stage with an astounding performance against the very best in the world at Team USA minicamp.
Whether it was hitting a sweet midrange fade over Jrue Holiday, draining a three in AD’s face, finishing ridiculous and-ones, or getting a shoutout from KD, the Duke commit looked every bit like he belonged on the court despite being in a room full of legends. And oh yeah—he’s 17!

Summer League Standouts
Zach Edey: 14 PTS, 15 REB, 4 BLK
Newsflash: the back-to-back college National Player of the Year is a really good basketball player. Going head to head with Utah’s Walker Kessler, Zach Edey feasted on the boards—including a critical put-back off a free throw to send the game to OT. Beast! 💪💪

Jaylen Wells: 27 PTS, 6 REB, 3 AST
From D2 Sonoma State to burying Summer League buzzer-beaters in the span of a year, Jaylen Wells might just be the ultimate hidden gem. The 39th overall pick showed off his lightning fast release all night before finding himself in the right place at the right time to bury the game winner.
Ricky Council IV: 29 PTS, 8 REB, 5 3PM
Council quickly became a fan favorite among Philly fans last season thanks to some solid showings when the Sixers struggled with injuries, and now we’re starting to see what he’s capable of with the ball in his hands. The Arkansas grad was a live wire in the fourth quarter, dropping 19 in the final frame to put the game to bed.
Jared McCain: 15 PTS, 6 REB, 2 STL
We think it says a lot about McCain’s game that the supposed spot-up shooter was still able to make an impact despite going 0-for-6 from beyond the arc. The former Blue Devil looked incredibly comfortable attacking the basket, and he showed off some nice playmaking chops with this sweet lob to Adem Bona:
