After 15 years, hundreds of games, and one unforgettable legacy, Jeremy Lin is hanging up his sneakers.
The former NBA sensation announced his retirement from professional basketball over the weekend, ending a career that included one of the NBA’s wildest runs ever. In 2012, Lin took the basketball world by storm with a string of unexpected stellar performances, including a 38-point gem against Kobe’s Lakers and an ice-cold game-winner against Toronto. Enjoyers across the world know it solely as “Linsanity.”
Lin later won a championship with the Raptors in 2019, and had recently been playing for the New Taipei Kings in Taiwan. In 2025, he was the MVP and Finals MVP of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League. Now, Lin turns his focus to a new chapter in life, one that we know he’ll Enjoy just as much.
“I will forever be the kid who felt fully alive everytime I touched a basketball.”

Luka Doncic drops triple-double in Slovenia’s EuroBasket win
Luka Doncic has been on one at this year’s EuroBasket, and his performance on Sunday was just the latest example. The Lakers star led his native Slovenia to an 86-69 victory over Belgium, notching a triple-double in the process (29 PTS, 11 AST, 10 REB.) The feat makes Luka the fifth player to ever record a trip-dub in EuroBasket.
It was Slovenia’s first win of the tournament thus far, but that’s no thanks to the play of their leading countryman. Doncic also poured in 34 PTS against Poland and 39 against France, though Slovenia ultimately fell in both matchups.
Elsewhere in the tourney…
The Heat’s Simone Fontecchio broke the Italian single-game EuroBasket scoring record with a 39-point performance.
Nikola Jokic dropped 30 PTS and 10 REB to help Serbia to a third straight win.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led undefeated Greece to another victory with 27 PTS in a win over Georgia.
Each team will attempt to survive the group round and advance to the knockout phase beginning September 6. With all these stars out, it’s starting to feel like the NBA season came early. 😎
Luka Doncic made a historic triple-double in @EuroBasket!

Bucks resign Thanasis Antetokounmpo to one-year deal
Speaking of the Antetokounmpos, one of our favorite sibling duos in the NBA is sticking around.
Milwaukee recently announced a new one-year deal for Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who spent all of last season rehabbing a torn Achilles. Thanasis, the older brother of two-time MVP Giannis, won a championship with the Bucks in 2021 and appeared in 34 games off the bench in 2024.
The Antetokounmpbros are a rare feat, with just one other active sibling duo (Franz and Mo Wagner) in the league. After an uncertain offseason that some thought would see Giannis leave Milwaukee for good, we’re glad to see his fam stick together.
