Game Recaps
Vucevic nails go-ahead three in final seconds, Bulls improve to 6-1 with 113-111 comeback win over Philly
A 24-point comeback, another Josh Giddey triple double, and a game winner from Nikola Vucevic all in one night? Halloween may be over, but the Windy City got yet another treat in Tuesday’s win.
This game was a classic ‘tale of two halves.’ The first half belonged to the Sixers, who jumped out to an 18 point halftime lead, thanks in large part to yet another mega performance from Tyrese Maxey (39 PTS, 14/26 shooting).
The second half, specifically the fourth quarter, was the Bulls’ turn to shine. Giddey’s video-game numbers (29 PTS, 15 REB, 12 AST) propelled Chicago’s big run to close the game, capped off by Big Vuc’s (19 PTS, 10 REB) game winning triple off a beautiful Giddey dime: 😤

With the win, Chicago opens the season winning six of their first seven games, remaining atop the eastern conference. It’s still early, but all signs are pointing to a fun season of basketball in Chi-town! 🙌

It seems like the every time the Bucks and Pacers play, the game goes down to the final seconds. With the beautiful, Dirk-esque fadeaway buzzer-beater from the Greek Freak on Monday, he simply wrote another chapter to this intense division rivalry story.
Giannis was up to his usual bag of tricks (33 PTS, 13 REB, 5 AST) in a game that felt much bigger than just an early November regular season game. Myles Turner (9 PTS, 7 REB, 5 BLK) felt this significance the most, playing his first game in Gainsbridge Fieldhouse as an opponent after spending the first decade of his career as a Pacer. 🥲
In typical 2025 Indiana Pacers fashion, the squad made a late comeback in the fourth, capped off by a running layup from Aaron Nesmith (17 PTS) to tie the game at 115. Pascal Siakam did all he could in this one (32 PTS) but unfortunately, they just left too much time on the clock for one of the best players in the game…

Elsewhere around the NBA:
After an 0-2 start to the season, it appears we finally have liftoff in Houston! 🚀 The Rockets took home their fourth straight victory Monday night 110-102 over the Mavs. Kevin Durant (21 PTS, 6 REB, 5 AST) is looking increasingly comfortable in his new city, while Alperen Sengun (26 PTS, 11 REB, 6 AST) and Amen Thompson (27 PTS) continue to kill it to start the season. NBA, we may have a problem…
Speaking of teams that are currently on fire, look no further than the Lakers. LA picked up their fourth consecutive win on Monday in a 123-115 come from-behind victory over the Blazers. The Lakeshow got it done without LeBron James, Luka Doncić, and Austin Reaves. DeAndre Ayton (29 PTS, 10 REB) was looking like the player that was taken first overall in the draft, and former Arkansas legend Nick Smith Jr. came up huge (25 PTS, 6 AST) off the bench. It might get scary for the west when we finally get to see this squad at full health…
It took almost two full weeks, but the New Orleans Pelicans are finally on the board! The Pels snagged their first win of the season on Tuesday, 116-112 over the Hornets. With Zion Williamson out due to injury, New Orleans chose to win by committee in this one, with a whopping EIGHT players scoring in double figures. Talk about a full-team effort! 😁
Have you heard of the popular saying “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish?” Well, for the Warriors, that quote meant almost nothing to them in their 118-107 win over the Suns. The Dubs jumped out to a 33-19 lead after the first quarter, and that was allll they needed to cruise to victory. Outside of Steph Curry (28 PTS), GSW saw a big outing from Moses Moody (24 PTS) off the bench. Strength in Numbers!
Moses Moody is the 4th youngest Warriors player to reach 300 career three-pointers.

What We’re Enjoying
Just a few weeks into the season, there have already been a TON of major performances from guys who have never made an All-Star team in their careers. Who will earn that honor for the first time this season?
In the latest Numbers on the Board Podcast, Kenny, Pierre, Darrick, and Mike share which players they believe will be picked as All-Stars for the first time based on what we’ve seen so far this season. 🤔
Give it a watch!
