Game Recaps

76ers pick up 139-122 win over the Bucks as Paul George goes off

There’s few experiences that are more enjoyable than watching a vintage performance from a star player. On Tuesday night, Paul George was kind enough to give us that experience.

PG-13 was a flamethrower from all over the floor in Philly’s victory over the Bucks, but he did most of his damage from beyond the arc. He torched Milwaukee from distance, going 9/15 from three and ending the game with 32 points.

If you squint just a little here, this clip looks a lot like Indiana Paul George

George led the way, put Philly got great production from its other key hoopers. Joel Embiid (29 PTS, 9 REB) continues his hot streak, Tyrese Maxey (22 PTS, 9 AST) keeps up his steady play like he has all season, and Jared McCain (17 PTS, 5/6 3PT) had one of his best games of the season!

As for the Bucks, it’s hard enough to win in Philly, but it’s even harder without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Myles Turner (31 PTS, 10/16 FG) did his best to pick up the slack, but Milwaukee continues to slide further down the east standings as we get closer to the trade deadline.

Rockets use big Fourth Quarter to defeat Grizzlies 108-99 behind Sengün’s efficient night

The western conference is already scary, but if Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengün look this comfortable playing next to each other….things look even scarier out west.

Monday’s win over the Grizzlies was simply an offensive masterclass from Sengün, who went for 33 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, on a RIDICULOUS 15/17 shooting from the floor. The basket was as large as the ocean for the All-Star big in this one, and with KD dropping 33 of his own, this duo had Memphis defenders in a blender all night:

The big nights on the offensive end doesn’t end there for Houston. Amen Thompson added a career-high 14 assists, dropping dimes all over the floor! 😎

The Grizz had five players score in double figures, and even held a lead going into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for them, they got hit with the KD-Sengun bloodsaw down the stretch, and there was just nothing they could do about it. 😅

Elsewhere around the NBA:

  • After a rough start to 2026, the Knicks are finally stringing some wins together. New York picked up their third straight on Tuesday night, beating the Kings 103-87. The game was tied through three quarters, but Jalen Brunson (28 PTS, 9/17 FG) KAT (18 PTS, 11 REB) and Mikal Bridges (15 PTS, 8/13 FG) all played huge roles in the Knicks’ dominant 31-15 fourth quarter to cruise to the W. 🔥

  • Don’t look now, but Alex Sarr is starting to really put it altogether. The second-year big man willed Washington to victory on Tuesday night, putting up a 29 point, 12 rebound, and six (!) block statline in the Wizards 115-111 win over the Blazers. Sarr has now scored 24+ in three of his last four games, and the big win on Tuesday was huge for team morale, as the Wiz avoided losing their tenth straight game. For Portland, Shaedon Sharpe led the way with 31 points on five made threes, but it wasn’t enough as the Blazers end up going 0-2 on their back-to-back.

  • If you catch them on the right night, the Hornets are one of the most entertaining watches in the association. As of late, there have been a whole lot of those ‘right’ nights, as Charlotte picks up a dominant 130-93 win over the Sixers on Monday. Brandon Miller led the way with a 30-piece, and all five starters scored in double figures for the Hornets. Though they won by 37, the final score doesn’t tell the full story of how dominant this win was. They led by a miraculous 50 (yes, 50) points entering the fourth… 😳

  • Jrue Holiday and Robert Williams played in Boston on Monday night. This time around though, they were the opponents. Both players received big ovations from the TD Garden crowd in their return to Boston for the first time since being traded. The C’s reminded Holiday and Williams of all the winning they had as members of the franchise, as they walked away with a 102-94 win, thanks to a game-breaking 32-11 opening quarter. Portland cut it to five late in the fourth, but Payton Pritchard (23 PTS) and the Celtics walk away unscathed.

Wayback Wednesday

On this week’s edition of Wayback Wednesday, let’s take a look back at one of the most successful 2nd round draft picks in NBA history and an absolute bucket-getter, Monta Ellis!

Coming into the NBA as a smaller guard straight out of high school, it was unclear at first if Monta Ellis would find success in the pros. By just his second season though, he put all of that doubt to rest. He took home the 2006-07 Most Improved Player award after a major bump in his numbers (16.5 PTS, 4.7 AST, 1.5 STL) from his rookie season! 🔥

Ellis carried the momentum from his MIP season and soon became one of the most prolific scorers in the league. His explosiveness and quickness made him seem like a blur to his defenders. He could take you off the dribble…or stop and pop for a silky smooth mid-range jumper.

Take a look at his career-high scoring outburst, a 48-point masterclass against the Durant-Westbrook-Harden Thunder squad: 😳

In 2009, the Warriors gave Ellis a partner in the backcourt, drafting Stephen Curry seventh overall. However….many thought this tandem wouldn’t work, as both guards were smaller and had similar playstyles. While, yes, the Steph-Monta era did not lead to a whole lot of wins, the Bay Area fans were treated to a whole lot of buckets!

Monta put together his peak offensive season during the 2009-10 campaign, putting up 25.5 points per game and finishing sixth in the league in scoring for that season.

After getting traded from the Warriors in 2012, he was able to find better team success following a six year playoff drought with GSW. He made the playoffs in each of his last six seasons in the NBA, including a two-year peak with the Mavericks in 2014 and 2015 (26.0 PTS, 2.0 STL, 46% FG) where Ellis and Mavs nearly pulled off an upset of the eventual champion Spurs in 2014….

His final stint was with the Pacers in the 2016-17, and Monta retired at just the age of 31. Although Monta Ellis didn’t exactly leave behind a Hall-of-Fame legacy, he still was one of the most fun and exciting hoopers to watch in the 2010s. He gave the Warriors fans a glimpse of hope right before their dynasty run, and was constantly giving his defenders PROBLEMS. 😎
