McBride and Miles go off again, Lynx defeat Storm 105-102 for sixth straight win
Kayla McBride and Olivia Miles have done it again. 🔥
One of the best stories in the WNBA wrote yet another chapter on Monday, as rookie phenom Olivia Miles continues to play a major role on the best team in the association. Miles erupted for 32 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, hitting one clutch bucket after another late in the fourth. Miles’ season stats (19.5 PTS, 4.8 REB, 5.9 AST) have never been reached by another rookie….until now. Talk about making history!
Miles’ partner in crime, Kayla McBride, also couldn’t be stopped out there. McBride dropped a cool 33 points on 6/10 from three, and took over the fourth down the stretch alongside her rookie sensation teammate.
Though Miles and McBride stole the show, don’t sleep on Courtney Williams, who went for 21 points of her own on 8/13 shooting. The three stars combined for 86 of the Lynx’ 105 total points. 😳
With the win, the Lynx picked up their sixth straight W, improving their league-best record to 21-6!

Liberty outlast Wings 99-98 in OT behind Breanna Stewart’s near 30 point triple double
Trailing by 12 points halfway through the third quarter, it appeared the Liberty's losing streak was well on its way to being pushed to five games.
Then, Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu happened.
The two veteran All-Stars led the charge for New York, outscoring Dallas 24-15 in the fourth quarter to force OT. Stewart dominated throughout (33 PTS, 13 REB, 8 AST) and joined the 1,000 career point club in the process!
Once the game got to OT, Ionescu took over from there. She quite literally could not miss from the floor in the extra period, going 5/5, scoring from everywhere on the court:
For the Wings, Arike Ogunbowale led the way with 29 points for a Dallas squad that was playing without Paige Bueckers. Ogunbowale had a chance to win the game at the buzzer in OT, but was off the mark and the Liberty walked out with a much needed one point victory!

We may be a few weeks into 2026 Free Agency, but there’s still plenty of hot names left on the board! Let’s take a dive on which impact players are still looking for their next home:
LeBron James: The major domino remaining in 2026 free agency is of course, LeBron. It’s expected that Bron could make his decision any day now, with recent reports from Shams that Miami, Cleveland, and Philadelphia appear to still be the three frontrunners, with Golden State not too far behind in the chase for the 23-time All-NBA superstar. The NBA world, players and fans alike, are all wondering the same thing: where will The King be playing this upcoming season? 🤔
James Harden: Though the 11-time All Star James Harden is an unrestricted free agent, all signs point to the Beard coming back to Cleveland for the 2026-27 season, and is even playing a role in recruiting LeBron to come home once again to ‘The Land’. Will his recruiting efforts pay off? Time will tell…..
Jalen Duren (RFA): We’re three weeks into free agency, and Jalen Duren, the 22 year old, All-NBA third team center from this past season is still unsigned. The reason? A contract stall between him and the Pistons. There is a sizable gap between the salary Duren wants, and the salary Detroit is willing to offer. The Pistons have stated they intend to re-sign Duren and are turning down any sign-and-trade scenarios, which might leave the young star’s only option to be accepting the $9.6M qualifing offer…
Peyton Watson (RFA): Just like Duren and Pistons, Peyton Watson and the Denver Nuggets are going through a similar situation this summer. A lot of the money has dried up over the past few weeks, leaving Watson with limited options to sign an offer sheet with another team, giving the Nuggets more leverage in negotiations. Even after a career season in 2025-26, it’s possible Watson might be coming back to Denver on the qualifying offer if a long-term deal isn’t reached.
Johnathan Kuminga: After getting his $24M team option declined by the Hawks, the 23 year old Kuminga is seeking a new home, with teams such as the Lakers and Cavs showing interest. Kuminga’s camp is seeking a deal in the $15-20M range annually, but momentum has recently stalled with interested teams after not meeting his asking price…
DeMar DeRozan: Two weeks back, the Kings and DeRozan mutally agreed on the six-time All-Star’s waiving, making him a late addition to the 2026 Free Agent class. For right now, it appears the status of DeRozan’s next team largely depends on where LeBron James ends up, as many of the teams who are in the running for James are expected to pursue Demar as a backup plan if they don’t land the King. Otherwise, a return to Toronto has not been ruled out either….👀
