Melo, Sue Bird, and other legends inducted into HOF Class of 2025

There’s nothing more Enjoyable than seeing the best get their flowers.

Over the weekend, the Basketball Hall of Fame inducted another legendary class including an all-time scorer, a lockdown defender, and a trio of WNBA GOATs. This year’s group included Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Sue Bird, Maya Moore, and Sylvia Fowles, as well as the 2008 USA Olympic team, Billy Donovan, Micky Arison, and referee Danny Crawford.

There were plenty of memorable moments from the ceremony, but the standout had top be Melo showing love to his city: “I may have played around the league, but my soul will always echo 33rd and 7th. Once a Knick, always a Knick.

You absolutely love to see it. 🥹

Luka drops 42, Jokic bows out of EuroBasket knockout round

If you haven’t been keeping up with this year’s EuroBasket, now is the time to dial in.

The knockout round tipped off with a bang over the weekend, courtesy of a nuclear performance from Luka Doncic. After a few masterful games during the group stage, Doncic dropped his best performance yet, dropping 42 PTS, 10 REB, and 3 STL in an 84-77 win over Italy.

Elsewhere in the bracket, three-time MVP Nikola Jokic was ousted in stunning fashion after his native Serbia fell to Finland 92-86. Lauri Markkanen dropped 29 PTS, Elias Valtonen scored 8 PTS in the final two minutes and Finland corralled 20 offensive rebounds, outdoing a 33-point effort from the Joker. Oh, and Giannis had 37 PTS and 10 REB to lead Greece to an 84-79 dub.

Will Luka or Giannis lead their countries to a title? Will another nation shock the world? Only time will tell…

Memory Lane

Each year’s Hall of Fame class is decked out with insane talent, but this year’s group has some especially memorable moments to their name. Let’s look back on some of the best (in no particular order):

  1. Melo goes off in the Garden: Remember that awesome homage Melo gave to his time in New York? It’s because he was doing stuff like this while he was there. On January 24, 2014, Melo had no regard for human life against the since-defunct Charlotte Bobcats, dialing up 62 PTS and 13 REB. It was the most points by a Knick in franchise history, and legend has it the swishes are still echoing in MSG to this day.

  1. It’s Bird. It’s Plain: Sue Bird did a lot of extraordinary things throughout her 21-year WNBA career, but one always seemed to come remarkably easy: winning. The 13-time All-Star is the only W player to win championships in three different decades, a feat she accomplished after winning her fourth title with Seattle in 2020. Eight All-WNBA selections, two assist titles, and one unforgettable legacy.

  1. Moore Chips: Maya Moore’s WNBA stint was the stuff of MyCareer— four titles, a Finals MVP, and a dominant MVP campaign in 2014, all with the Minnesota Lynx. But her college career was arguably just as legendary. Over the course of her four years at UConn, Moore won two undefeated national championships, two Naismith National Player of the Year awards, and was a four-time first-team All-American. Her overall record with the Huskies was 150-4. Read that again. 150-4. We might need a hall just for her.

  1. Fowles’s Triple Crown: Speaking of the Lynx’s dominance, Sylvia Fowles was Moore’s partner-in-crime for much of their dynastic run. After playing the first seven years of her career with the Sky, Fowles was traded to Minnesota halfway through the 2015 season and wasted no time making her mark— in a decisive Game 5 of that year’s Finals, she notched 20 PTS and 11 REB and was named Finals MVP. But her true peak came in 2017, when she took home the title, regular season MVP, and Finals MVP, becoming just the fifth WNBA player to win the latter two awards in the same season. If there’s a board in the air, just assume it’s hers.

  1. It’s a bird, it’s a plane: Dwight Howard’s career had many acts: first as a dominant three-time DPOY winner in Orlando, then as a journeyman All-Star in Houston, and finally as a champion with the Lakers. But anytime you earn the moniker of Superman, that moment tends to rise above the rest. In 2008, Dwight delivered one of the most iconic performances in Slam Dunk Contest history, donning the iconic cape and jamming it home from just inside the free throw line. All he needs is the laser eyes. 😎
