Good morning! Thereâs nothing we love more than recapping all the action in the NBA each weekend, and we wonât be able to do that too many more times 𼲠But weâve been reading some books about living in the moment, so weâre going to try and do that. đ§ Letâs get into it!
Todayâs Lineup
These Finals Are Fun: Miami steals a thriller in Denver and evens the series đŞ˘
Vogel in the Valley: Suns tab former Pacers, Lakers coach as head man đď¸
EB Roundtable: Weâd do anything to watch this 3 on 3 tournament đĽ

Back To Miami We Go, Series Tied 1-1
You cannot kill the Miami Heat.
Weâll walk you through the vibe of this Game 2 of the NBA Finals via GIFs. After the first quarter, when Max Strus found his jumpshot and Miami looked more comfortable than they did all of Game 1:
Heat up 3 after 1Q
Then, Denver came alive, mounting a massive second-quarter runâa lot of which came with Nikola Jokic on the bench. Halftime mood:
Nuggets up six at the break
In the third quarter, you could hear the think pieces being composed. âWill Miami win a game this series?â Or perhaps, âMiamiâs magic has finally run out.â Thatâs because Denver slowly started to inch away, building a lead that ballooned to nine heading into the final frame. Mood after three:
But that dancing (respect to Jamal Murray for the double hammers there) didnât last long, because Miami runs on DuncanâŚRobinson, that is. The Heat sharpshooter was a non-factor for three quarters and then was the factor to start the fourth.
Duncan Robinson in the 4th:
10 PTS
4-5 FG
2-3 3PHe didnât take any shots until the 4th quarter.

No disrespect to the first seven quarters of this series, but it felt like the Finals really started in the fourth quarter of Game 2 on Sunday.
Just like Denver did in the third, Miami slowly gained more and more breathing roomâtaking a 107-95 lead with 3:39 left. Denverâs furious comeback fell just shortâliterallyâas a Jamal Murray prayer to tie the game in the waning seconds missed. Phew.
Can we start Game 3, like, now?
Frank Vogel â> Phoenix
Getting to live in sunny Arizona while coaching both Kevin Durant and Devin Booker? Yeah, we canât blame Frank Vogel for taking the Sunsâ head coaching position.
Vogel most recently spent three years as head coach of the Lakers, where he won an NBA title in 2020. In a world where coaches are hired and fired quicker than ever before, itâs still pretty wild to see a coach go from championship, to unemployed, to coaching a new team in just three years.
The Suns have their head coach âď¸

EB Roundtable
Itâs been a minute since we circled the EB roundtable and let all you intelligent folks lead the discussions. For this weekâs edition, we imagined a hypothetical 3 on 3 tournament. If the in-season tournament doesnât work out for the NBA, someone let Adam Silver know we have a good replacementâŚ
Youâre building a team for a 3v3 tournament and can pick:

Itâs hard to go wrong here, in all honesty. Letâs check out some of the most fun hypotheticals.
LeBron
Hakeem
Hardenâ Lindt (@bootleglindt)
5:19 PM ⢠Jun 3, 2023
James Harden has been a star for so long that memories of him coming off the bench feel like theyâre from a different lifetime. This team basically speaks for itself. It also gives us an opportunity to go watch some Hakeem highlights, which is always a good idea.
Shaq
Jordan
Odomâ Drrn (@DarrenAllen_)
6:20 PM ⢠Jun 3, 2023
Itâs also always a good idea to remind folks just how nasty Lamar Odom was. No one quite exemplifies âahead of their timeâ better than Odom, who was a prototypical 2023 NBA player in the early 2000s. A perfect 3-on-3 player.
Manu
Jordan
Giannisâ đŞđđđ đŠ (@Three_Cone)
5:18 PM ⢠Jun 3, 2023
Three different generations of NBA players and three distinct play styles that might come together and create the most entertaining 3-on-3 team the blacktop has ever seen.

What Weâre Enjoying
Spiderman: Across The Spider-verse: How do you follow up on one of the best moviesâanimated or notâof the past decade? Well, make a sequel that somehow takes all the greatest parts of that movie and makes them even better, apparently. Across The Spider-Verse somehow exceeds the energy and excitement of its predecessor. Go see this movie ASAP. Regardless if you like superhero movies or not. Itâs so good.
