Luka's historic 60-21-10 performance beats Knicks in record comeback

Wow. Wow. Wow. This is peak Enjoy Basketball. Luka Doncic scored 60 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists in an overtime win over the Knicks last night. Let yourself (even you, Knicks fans) be in awe and watch a master at his absolute best:

Not only did the Mavs (19-16) win 126-121 over the Knicks (18-17), but they came back from 9 points with just 35 seconds. In the 20 years before tonight, teams were 0-13,884 when trailing in that circumstance. A truly historic, legacy-defining night for Luka Doncic.

Wizards halt 76ers' monstrous performances

Kristaps Porzingis (24 points) led a balanced Wizards (14-21) attack to snap a 8-game win streak from the 76ers (20-13). Joel Embiid put up a ridiculous 48 points, and James Harden added a vintage 26-point, 13-assist performance, but Philly fell 116-111. This league is so FUN because a 12-seeded Washington with no clear all-star but several quality pieces can knock off a contender with a dominant superstar.

Pacers prevail over Hawks 129-114

When Buddy Hield retires, he will subtly be one of the greatest 3-point shooters of all time. Hopefully we know his correct age and heā€™ll be here for a while. Jokes aside, Hield had 6 treys tonight for 28 points and a massive W for Indiana (18-17) over Atlanta (17-17). In the 4th quarter, Trae Young left with an ankle injury, so prayers up to him!

Clippers stave off Raptors 124-113

LA racked up their 7th win in 9 games as Paul George and Ivan Zubac scored 23 apiece, while Pascal Siakam valiantly put up 36. Plus, Kawhi Leonard played in Toronto for just the second time since lifting the Larry Oā€™Brien Trophy and was met by cheers. Classic Canadian politeness!

Surging Nuggets comeback against Kings

The Nuggets erased a 20-point deficit to beat the Kings for their 8th win in last 9 outings. Seriously, these dudes look legit because they can beat you in so many ways. Tonight it was Michael Porter Jr with 30 points and Jamal Murray with 25 in the 113-106 win.

Short-handed Suns handle healthy Grizzlies

The NBA is so unpredictable, especially with health. Last night Phoenix was missing Devin Booker while the Grizzlies were playing a fully healthy lineup for one of the first times all season. Yet, Duane Washington Jr (bio here if you don't know 'em!) scored 26 points for the Suns in a 125-108 victory. Thatā€™s why they actually play the games!

Celtics handle Houston 126-102

Great teams win games they are supposed to. When a franchise has Jayson Tatum (38 points) and Jaylen Brown (39 points), thatā€™s manageable. For the Rockets (10-24), Jalen Green (28 points) and Kevin Porter Jr (22 points, 9 assists) showed off their fun flare against a formidable Celtics (25-10) defense.

Lakers master Magic 129-110

Paolo Banchero may be the future of the wing position, but LeBron proved heā€™s still the present. King James led the Lakers (14-20) to a win over the Magic (13-22) with 28 points and Russell Westbrook posted a triple-double in a firm victory to stop a 4-game LA skid.

Warriors outlast Hornets 110-105

Neither squad could find an offensive rhythm, but the Warriors topped Charlotte behind Klay Thompsonā€™s 29 points and Jordan Pooleā€™s 24 piece. Still, the Dubs need to find a way without Curry, manā€¦

Thunder top Spurs 130-114

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hooped, Coach Pop got ejected, and Devin Vassell remains promising. Would Victor Wembanyama or Scoot Henderson look better in a Spurs jersey?

Monday Night Notes

Entering Monday, teams were 2-12,873 when trailing by 14+ points with 3 minutes remaining since 1996. The Clippers became the third. Down 14 points against the Pistons (8-28), Los Angeles prevailed 142-131 behind 32 points from Paul George and a clutch jumper from Terance Mann.

Kevin Durantā€™s 32 points catapulted the red-hot Nets (22-12) over the Cavaliers (22-13). Donā€™t look now, but the once-floundering Brooklyn squad have won 13 of their last 14 and sit 2 games back of the 1 seed. Lowkey, KD should be everyoneā€™s dark horse MVP pickā€¦

Market Watch

Stock Rising: Domantas Sabonis

When Domantas Sabonis was on the Pacers, he was an underhyped all-star. Now in Sacramento, not much has changed. Sabonis is averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds for the 6th seeded Kings while making a massive leap defensively and as a passer. In his last 11 games, he is averaging 20 points, 15 points, and 7.4 assists. As he plays more and more games with (fellow all-star?) Deā€™Aaron Fox in Sac-Town, Arvydas' son should approach All-NBA territory.

Buy for value: Jerami Grant

Right now, Jerami Grant is averaging 22 points on 45% 3PT for the 7th seeded Trail Blazers who sit at 18-16 despite Damian Lillard missing time. Are we missing something, or has there not been enough buzz around his performance this season? Regardless, NBA fans should appreciate him sustaining big-time numbers on an actual playoff team and buy his stock because its worthwhile.
