Plus, the Bulls signed (another) Chicago native.
Happy Friday, Enjoyers! The NFL season just kicked off, but we know you’re still craving your daily hoops fix—luckily for you, that’s kind of our job.
But in recognition of football season, take a look at some highlights from our favorite high school wide receiver of all time:

Bulls sign Chicago native Talen Horton-Tucker to partially guaranteed deal
First, they drafted Ayo Dosunmu. Then, it was Matas Buzelis. Now, the Bulls have extended their love affair with their own city by signing Chicago’s own Talen Horton-Tucker to a partially guaranteed deal that gives him a chance to compete for the regular season roster during training camp.
THT spent the last two seasons with Utah, where he averaged 10.5 points per game on 41% shooting from the field and 31% from three. Before Utah, it was in Los Angeles where Horton-Tucker got his start, winning a ring with LeBron, AD, and company in his 2020 rookie campaign.
With Dosunmu, Zach LaVine, new addition Josh Giddey, and breakout star Coby White already occupying the front of Bulls’ guard room, it might be tough for THT to find substantial rotational playing time in Chicago. Nevertheless, it would be fun to watch another Chicago native ball out in the Windy City!

Mac McClung re-signs on training camp deal with Orlando
He’s back! 2024 G League MVP and back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Mac McClung has signed a non-guaranteed deal with the Orlando Magic that could earn him a regular season roster spot when the time comes.
McClung is most famous for his gravity-defying dunking ability (despite standing at just 6’2”) but he can hoop as well! Mac averaged just under 25 points per game last year with the G League’s Osceola Magic, including shooting 40% from three on six and a half attempts per night. He can pass the ball too, averaging over six assists per game throughout his entire career in the G League.
Best of luck to Mac this summer as he fights for a spot with the Magic!

GG Jackson to return in three months after surgery
In the latest update on one of the more brutal injuries to happen this year, 19-year-old Memphis forward GG Jackson is set to miss at least three months after undergoing surgery to repair a broken bone in his right foot.
Jackson, who shocked the world last year when he averaged almost 15 points on 43% shooting from the floor and 36% from three for the depleted Grizzlies, broke his foot a few days ago in practice. With Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr, Marcus Smart, and new addition Zach Edey, Memphis still looks like a solid playoff team without Jackson and will only improve once he returns in late 2024/early 2025.

The… New Jersey 76ers?
And now, in the most outlandish news of the 2024 offseason, the Philadelphia 76ers are considering a move to New Jersey.
The Sixers’ organization recently commented that they would be “taking all potential options seriously” before their current stint in Philadelphia ends in 2031. Time is running out for the team to negotiate a new deal with their current home at Wells Fargo Arena, and a $400 million tax break proposal to the 76ers by the state of New Jersey certainly complicates things.
The Philadelphia 76ers are "seriously" considering relocating to New Jersey, per @ROINJNews

The Garden State is definitely not new to the NBA—the New Jersey Nets competed in northern NJ from 1977 to 2012 and won Eastern Conference titles in 2002 and 2003. But removing professional basketball from Philadelphia would be a heavy blow to the sixth most populous city in the country. They’re just considering it, and nothing is even close to formal yet, but this would be a MAJOR shakeup to the NBA landscape!
