Former NBA vets lead The Miami 305 to BIG3 Championship
They say when one door closes, another door opens. For a few former NBA veterans, that door led to a ring.
On Sunday, The Miami 305 defeated the Chicago Triplets 52-48 to bring home a BIG3 championship in their inaugural season as a franchise. They also earned $1 million for each of the team’s five members.
Former NBA No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley led the way with 25 PTS and 12 REB, while Pacers icon Lance Stephenson added 14 PTS and 9 REB. Former Heat guard Mario Chalmers also notched 5 PTS and 3 AST, giving him a second pro basketball title in Vice City.
For Chicago, former 6MOTY Montrezel Harrell scored 16 PTS while Nasir Core had 13 PTS and 11 REB. Chicago also featured NBA vet and former Hustle Player of the Year Amir Johnson. There’s so much to Enjoy about the BIG3, from its unique style of play to its showcasing of former NBA players we know and love. Until next season!

Malik Beasley no longer a target of gambling investigation, can sign new contract
One of the league’s most prolific sharpshooters is back on the open market.
Over the weekend, lawyers representing Malik Beasley said the veteran guard is no longer the subject of a federal gambling investigation, meaning he is free to sign a new contract. Earlier this summer, Beasley was set to return to the Pistons on a three-year, $42 million contract, but negotiations fell through after the investigation was brought to light on the second day of Free Agency.
Beasley broke out last season, averaging 16.3 PPG and nailing 319 three-pointers, good for second-most in the league. He also finished second in 6MOTY voting. Teams are always looking for shooting, and several have already reportedly expressed interest in Beasley, including the Cavs, Knicks, and Pistons. Wherever he goes, we can’t wait to see him light up the perimeter next season.

WNBA sets single-season attendance record
There may still be two weeks to go in the WNBA regular season, but this campaign is already making history.
The league recently announced that is has broken its all-time single-season attendance record, with the W’s 13 teams drawing a total of 2,501,609 fans over the course of the year so far— and that’s with roughly two weeks still to go. The previous mark was set in 2002.
There’s plenty of superstars you can credit for helping the league grow so much, but in the end, everyone deserves their due. Each player, coach, and fan has brought their best each and every night, and it’s resulted in an unprecedented level of success. Next up: the playoffs. 🍿
WNBA sets an all-time attendance record with 2,501,609 fans as of 8/20/25. In 2002, the record was set with 16 teams across 256 games. This season, the WNBA broke the record with 13 teams and just 226 games.
