NBA Cup Courts RANKED!

The first games of the 2024 NBA Cup rolled in this week, and in addition to the exciting hoops being played, we were impressed by the courts themselves too! In the inaugural event last year, the middle third of the court was a different color from the outer thirds, but we much prefer this year’s concentric circle designs. Adding the Cup itself is an amazing touch to get fans hyped about what the teams are playing for. Let’s walk you through our five favorite courts: ⬇️

  1. The Trail Blazers rolled out this beauty of a court. The greyscale complements the red, white, and gold of the Trail Blazers logo and cup perfectly, but the 10/10 touches are the rose silhouettes scatted across the court to honor Portland’s nickname—the City of Roses.

  1. Other teams put their city skyline’s silhouette on their court, but Minnesota put a whole forest on theirs! We appreciate how the Timberwolves have been leaning into their lime green side, and this definitely nails it. Feeling the power of the Wolfpack! 🐺

  1. We’re suckers for a good honeycomb, and we love Charlotte’s normal court design that incorporates it. Add in one of the best color schemes in the NBA, and you have an elite court. The Hive Is Alive!

  1. Houston’s hardwood is speckled with lines to make it look as if you’re sitting in a rocket about to enter hyperdrive! Alperen Sengun and the kids are ready for takeoff! 🚀

  1. And even though some fans complain when teams steer away from their traditional color scheme, we really like what Milwaukee has been doing with this blue theme for the past few years. The pairs of antlers arcing out to the three-point line is a fun touch too. 🦌

Jared McCain

Jared McCain is living the life, man. He became widely famous in high school for doing goofy TikTok dances your little sibling is still recreating, and he hooped so well he became a starting guard for Duke. And despite not having above the rim athleticism, the guy got drafted 16th to the 76ers and is on a tear, averaging over 26 PPG in his last five games to start his young career.

Some wondered if McCain’s TikTok interests were a drag on his draft stock, but it was reportedly never a concern for NBA front offices because of his widely touted work ethic. Clearly his grind is silencing the haters right now, but he still is making time to have some social media fun. He even started his own YouTube channel, and his recent video went viral for its ridiculous title: 💀

Derrick’s White

Derrick White just teamed up with Samuel Adams to release the (Derrick) White Ale! We hear that in addition to being a refreshing beer, it also makes you physically impossible to miss a three pointer.

Imagine going over to your buddy’s house, turning on some NBA games, and toasting each other’s good health to some Derrick’s White. The Celtics guard had a few of his drinks in celebration with Jakob Poeltl after the Toronto big man scored a season high 35 points.

First the LeHennessey, now this. What’s next? We’d gladly throw back a few Brandon Miller Lites. Maybe even a few Clint Capela Stellas!
