🇫🇷 Wemby’s Summer of Side Quests
It’s been the summer of side quests for the NBA’s biggest phenom. Victor Wembanyama makes tens of millions of dollars and came off an all-star season in year two, but instead of basking in stardom and resting on his laurels, he has spent the offseason training his body 💪 and mind 🧠 in down-to-earth, unorthodox ways.
In his hometown of 🇫🇷 Le Chesnay, Wemby hosted a “Hoop Gambit” tournament with chess matches ♟️ and a series of 1v1 and 3v3 basektball games. A video went viral of the 7’3” Wemby striking a ⚽️ soccer ball with remarkably coordination before hitting Ronaldo’s SIUUU celebration in Costa Rica.
But the ultimate “huh???” side quest was Wemby’s 10-day retreat in Shaolin Monastery in China 🇨🇳 where he trained his body and mind, earning an entry-level rank in the Shaolin kung fu system.
At the monastery, they train in the life of a warrior monk, combining Buddhism and intense kung fu training. Sounds like a training montage seen in a Bruce Lee movie! 😂
And yes, Victor has touched a basketball too. He’s not just in the gym with typical NBA trainers… he’s in workouts with HALL OF FAMERS. He’s been coached by Hakeem Olajuwon and Kevin Garnett this summer. Talk about “body and mind…” we’re picturing Wemby hit a Dream Shake and then scream ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

🙏 Dosunmu Gives Back to Chicago Youth
Ayo Dosunmu truly is Chicago’s finest. Not just as a player, but a person.
The Chicago native just finished Year 4 for the Bulls, and every offseason he has thrown a block party to bring Chicago youth together in the name of love, community, and hoops 💪
This summer was no different.
Joined by Bulls teammates Matas Buzelis and Patrick Williams, the 2025 block party was the largest to date and included basketball drills and games as well as obstacle courses, face painting, and a drum performance. Check out the wholesome video of the event ⬇️

The motivation was to honor the memory of Darius Brown, a friend of Ayo’s who was killed by a stray bullet while playing basketball. Dosunmu also remembers meeting Kobe Bryant in high school, and realizes how much of a positive impact meeting an NBA player can have on a kid.
“When I met Kobe that was something different. That was life changing and something I will never forget. That motivates me each and every day because you never know what kid here feels the same way about me. That’s why I try to always show them great, positive energy and show them that same love.”
In addition to the festivities, Ayo and the Bulls have gone the extra mile to support the kids academically. Dosunmu partnered with his two former schools to reward students achieving academic excellence with tickets to Bulls games. Since 2023, Ayo’s Scholars has gifted honors students with over 5,000 tickets! What a positive impact from Chicago’s very own 🙏

👟 Jordans Features Floral PE’s at Elite Camps
Every summer, Jordan Brand hosts a series of camps for elite prospects taught by Jordan signature athletes. In addition to showcasing the next generation’s top talent, we saw two FIRE player editions for some Jordan kicks.
Chris Paul showcased the Air Jordan 40 PE with a pink motif and a Nike swoosh, uncommon in the Jordan line. We’re really vibing with the floral pattern 🌸

But our favorite is Jayson Tatum’s new PE. In this colorway of the Tatum 3, Jayson pays homage to his mom Brandy as the shoe features the calla lily, her favorite flower 🌺
