Bobby Portis Gives Back to Milwaukee
The Mayor of Milwaukee is putting on for his city
January is National Mentoring Month, and Bobby Portis was all about paying things forward to the next generation all month long. From pulling up to the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha, WI to chatting with 50+ kids about resilience and self-belief, to running his “Bobby’s Crew” program (now in its fourth season), he’s making sure young people in Milwaukee feel seen.

For every Bucks home game, he sends kids from local mentoring orgs to experience NBA energy live with over 350 kids attending Bucks games each season!
He’s also tackling food insecurity. Portis serves on the board for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, helped push a one-million-sandwich PB&J Challenge, sorted 27,000 pounds of food, and packed 2,000 meal bags. This season he’s backing the Special Olympics too, pushing for equal opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Such a likeable dude!
BTW, in researching this segment for Bobby “The Mayor of Milwaukee” Portis, we learned that the actual mayor of Milwaukee’s name is Cavalier Johnson… as in the Bucks’ divisional rival Cleveland Cavaliers?? Imagine if the mayor of New York was named Celtic Mamdani. Surprised Milwaukeeans made that choice.

King James’ Special Kicks for Special Events
Father Time may be catching up to him, but LeBron James has been on a burner of kicks recently.
For his record 22nd All-Star Game at age 41, King James pulled up in the Nike LeBron 23 “Warning Label”, and they were beautiful. With metallic gold and black detailing, they’re a neon sign that the old man still has nuclear hops (load management permitting).

LeBron 23 “Warning Label”
When he passed Kareem for the NBA’s all-time made field goals mark on March 5, he did it in a LeBron 23 PE stamped “15,838+,” turning a history lesson into a flex

The Game of Zones of NBA Twitter
If you’ve watched Game of Thrones and are reading this newsletter, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen our new favorite account on Twitter: Westeros Central.
The account makes NBA posts as if they were happening in the GOT universe, and they are pure gold.
Like come on… this is the best post we’ve seen on social media in the last week:
While we’re on the topic of GOT and NBA… does anyone else miss Game of Zones?
This new account got us thinking about The Feast of the East, House Sun Kings, and of course… The Horse Who Does Horse Things. Here’s the full 3-hour compilation to bless your Sunday afternoon:
