What’s Good in the W

Double daggers from Chelsea Gray (11 PTS, 7 AST, 4 STL) lift the Aces past the Fever in OT (86-84).

Last night, we had a banger at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indy as the Las Vegas Aces were in town to take on the Indiana Fever. Indiana is coming into this game after having its five-game winning streak snapped by the league’s best Minnesota Lynx.

After a physical first quarter, the Fever came alive in the second, knocking down their first nine shots of the quarter to take a 20-point lead shortly before the end of the first half. However, the Aces bounced back and ended the quarter on a 15-0 run, led by Jackie Young (22 PTS, 4 REB, 9 AST) who scored the last 13 points of the half!

The Aces completely flipped the game, building a nine-point lead midway through the fourth quarter. But then the Fever crawled back behind the connection between Kelsey Mitchell (28 PTS, 4 AST, 2 3PM) and Aliyah Boston (21 PTS, 12 REB, 3 STL, 2 BLK), along with a pair of DEEP threes from Caitlin Clark (20 PTS, 8 AST).

With the Fever up three and 4.8 seconds to go, Young found Chelsea Gray in a scramble drill for the moment of the night…

But the Point Gawd wasn’t done.

In overtime, A’ja Wilson (26 PTS, 13 REB, 2 BLK) tipped a pass from Caitlin Clark with nine seconds left. The Aces stormed down the court, down one, as the final seconds ticked off the clock. Jackie Young found the Point Gawd (again) who laced it at the buzzer for a SECOND TIME!

All the air in the Fieldhouse escaped at once as the Aces emerged victorious.

Three missed free throws towards the end of regulation by Clark and Mitchell kept the Aces in the game, and they took full advantage of the opportunity.

Despite the defeat, Kelsey Mitchell is still on a HEATER. Last night marked 15 straight games with at least 20 PTS, and the first time in over a month (since June 20) that she failed to make three triples. Even in a loss, we need to tip the cap to greatness. 🫡

🧜‍♀️ Hear the Call! The Cleveland Sirens are Coming!

On Tuesday, Cleveland’s newest WNBA team announced its official nickname, the Sirens!

Drawing on Cleveland’s proximity to Lake Erie and its ties to rock and roll music made this mythical name the perfect fit for the incoming WNBA team.

This will mark Cleveland’s first time back in women’s hoops since 2003 when the Rockers featured some really cool branding of their own.

We’re just hoping we won’t have to put wax in our ears when the team arrives in 2028. (Go see the Odyssey if you haven’t already.)

Performances to hear about:

  • A Plum-less Sparks squad catches the Lynx lacking, ending Minnesota’s 10-game win streak (89-82). Five Sparks players scored in double figures, including an efficient performance off the bench from Cameron Brink (25 MIN, 12 PTS, 8 REB, 5 AST, 3 BLK).

  • Carla Leite (27 PTS, 11 AST) hit 15 free throws to push the Fire past the Tempo in a battle of the expansion teams (97-83). Toronto have dropped 8 straight games, and are 3-13 with Brittney Sykes out of the lineup.

  • Another night of Mystics’ late game heroics, as Shakira Austin (27 PTS, 13 REB) led Washington to a 20-point comeback against Jessica Shepard (22 PTS, 11 REB, 7 AST) and the Dallas Wings (96-92). Five-straight wins for Washington!

  • Rhyne Howard (23 PTS, 6 REB, 8 AST) and crew spoil Kelsey Plum’s (19 PTS, 5 REB, 4 AST) first start in Phoenix as the Dream make light work of the Mercury (96-82).

  • Breanna Stewart (28 PTS, 8 REB) and Jonquel Jones (14 PTS, 15 REB, 7 AST) led the Liberty to a steady win over Dominique Malonga (31 PTS, 10 REB) and Storm (92-86). Seattle are now on a 10 game losing streak.

Around the Association

☀️ Dillon Brooks reportedly agrees to 3-year, $73 million extension with the Suns.

The Suns continue their underrated offseason with another solid move. 🔥

Brooks is coming off a career-high in points per game (20.2) on 54% true shooting. His usage rate did shoot up 11% from the year prior due to injury issues from Jalen Green, but it seems that the Suns are trending in the right direction with Brooks in the lineup.

This offseason the Suns acquired sharpshooter Luke Kennard to pair with All-Star Devin Booker; new re-signings Collin Gillespie, Mark Williams, and Jordan Goodwin; plus Miles Bridges from Charlotte.

After a Play-In run last season, perhaps the Suns are looking rejuvinated in 2026-27 as well.

🔔 Jaylen Brown’s introductory press conference in Philly.

JB greeted reporters on Thursday for his first look in Philadelphia. He mentioned to reporters that,”[The Sixers] doesn’t have to be anybody’s team,” and made it clear that he is willing to take a step backwards or forwards given the night.

Brown, when asked if he had spoken to former Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum, said, “Not really.” All in all, he did not speak ill of Tatum, also saying, “On my end, there’s nothing but respect for Jayson and the time we played together in Boston.

Enjoy100 - Build Your Own NBA Rankings

As sports fans, if there’s one thing that we love, it’s ranking things. From the NFL’s Top 100 Players, to your favorite NOTB episodes, there is nothing we love more than seeing another person’s ranking and debating them.

Now with Enjoy, as a little gift to our very loyal readers, we are bringing you a new NBA player ranking experiment called the Enjoy100.

You select a pool of players you would like to rank, and from there, you’ll be shown two players at a time. All you have to do is select which player you think is better (your definition of better is completely up to you).

Enjoy100 Matchups

As you accumulate matchups, each NBA player generates an Elo score (similar to how online chess and competitive video games work), and the website will develop your own ranking, sorted by score, based on the results of your matchups.

After a number of matchups you will get a definitive answer of what your Top 5, Top 10, or even Top 100 will look like!

Simultaneously, you will be contributing to a worldwide Enjoy100 ranking, where you can see how your personal rankings differ from the globe! You can also sort the Top 100 by team, position, and draft class!

This will be one of (if not, the) first ranking systems that are driven entirely by fans!

Enjoyers, it may be time to get ranking! Try it out now!
