Game Recaps
Spurs’ dominant defense sets tone in series-tying 103-82 win over Thunder
Holding any NBA team to 82 PTS, 33% from the field, and 18% from three is a major feat. Doing it against the reigning champs? Special.
The Spurs did just that on Sunday night to knot the WCF at two games apiece, sending the series back to Oklahoma City for a pivotal Game 5. Victor Wembanyama was his usual brilliant self, notching 33 PTS (including a half-court buzzer-beater that pretty much looked like a normal jumper) along with 8 REB and 5 STL/BLK. But the biggest driver was San Antonio’s effort on defense, where a full-team effort forced 17 turnovers and held the Thunder to their lowest scoring total this postseason (by 26 PTS).
Stephon Castle played a major role, applying constant pressure to SGA (19 PTS, 6/15 FG) and allowing the rest of the Spurs to pay more attention to OKC’s supporting cast — Alex Caruso, Jared McCain, and Jaylin Williams, all of whom had standout performances earlier in the series, combined for just 7 PTS in Game 4. Isaiah Hartenstein brought some early offense with four straight hits on his trademark floater, but OKC’s offense just never found its rhythm.
The West is down to a best-of-three. We’ll see you Tuesday…

Knicks move within one win of Finals with 121-108 victory
27 years.
That’s how long it’s been since the Knicks last played in the NBA Finals. Now, New York is just one W away from returning to the sport’s biggest stage.
On Saturday, NY claimed its 10th straight win with another stellar shooting performance, taking a 3-0 ECF lead over Cleveland in the process. Jalen Brunson led the way with 30 PTS and 6 AST, while Mikal Bridges had another hyper-efficient gem (22 PTS, 11/15 FG), part of a 56% shooting effort for the Knicks on the day. They’ve shot almost 54% from the floor over the course of their current win streak.
New York got ahead early in this one and never looked back, scoring 37 in the first quarter to deflate a Cleveland home crowd that included Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Evan Mobley scored 24 PTS but went just 1/6 from beyond the arc, and now, the Cavs will need a 2016-level comeback to keep their championship hopes alive.

What We’re Enjoying
Four teams are still standing, but most of the league’s playoff participants have turned their attention to next season. Our guys over at Numbers on the Board gave them a head start, breaking down one move each eliminated team should make this summer. Give it a watch!

And we out! Thanks for spending a portion of your day with us. This week, remember what those old Warriors teams said: strength in numbers! Whenever you need a hand, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and when someone reaches out to you, do your best to give them support. It’s all better when we work together! See you soon.
