Remember when Luka and Book got up close and personal last season? Hereā€™s what was saidā€¦

Book: Hey Luka, less than 1% of Enjoy Basketball newsletter readers have referrals!

Luka: No wayā€¦ we need to get that number up! Let me tell my teammates to spread the word. Kyrie is going to love this movement.

Book: Appreciate you man, youā€™ll get some free swag too just by sharing your link.

Latest News

If youā€™re a gamer like us, you know that trying to complete 3-team trades on NBA 2K is impossible. But the Celtics, Mavericks, and Spurs made it happen IRL on Wednesday! Check it out:

Dallas receives šŸ“: Grant Williams & 2 future BOS 2nd-round picks

Boston receives ā˜˜ļø: 2024 DAL 2nd-round pick, 2025 DAL 2nd-round pick swap, 2028 DAL 2nd-round pick.

San Antonio receives āš«ļø: Reggie Bullock, unprotected 2030 DAL first-round pick swap.

Assuming the Cā€™s didnā€™t wanna pay Grant Williams, they made the best of a bad situation by at least getting some draft capital back in return. Williams will be awesome in the corner with Luka and Kyrie attacking the paint. And as for Reggie Bullockā€¦ well, hopefully the Spurs move him to a contender.

College Buddies Trolling

Josh Hart was announced as the 12th and final member of the USAā€™s roster for the FIBA World Cup this summer, joining fellow Villanova alumni Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson. But when Hart tweeted to express his excitement, Mikal tried to get his boy fined for tampering! šŸ˜‚

The Michael Jordan of Summer League

Keegan Murray has been absolutely dominating in Summer League, which is making us question why heā€™s even playing in the first placeā€¦ the man was a playoff starter and is playing against undrafted players from mid-majors. šŸ˜

As a result, he put up 41 points on Wednesday with smooth bucket after smooth bucket.

Seven 7s on 7/7

Today is July 7th (7/7), so weā€™re gonna walk you through our seven favorite NBA players to wear #7. Buckle up! 7ļøāƒ£

Carmelo Anthony

Meloooo! Carmelo Anthony is our GOAT #7. Wearing it for the Knicks, Thunder, Trail Blazers and Lakers, Melo shredded defenses in the midrange and hit his signature ā€œthree to the domeā€ celebration for a decade straight. One of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, no one rocked #7 with the skill and swagger that Melo did.

Pete Maravich

ā€œPistolā€ Pete Maravich mesmerized basketball fans while rocking #7 for the Atlanta Hawks and New Orleans Jazz (doesnā€™t that name make more sense than Utah?). Before the 3-point line was invented and before players had started using their left hand, Pistol was dribbling like Kyrie and launching long-balls like Steph.

Jaylen Brown

With Kevin Durant returning to #35 in Phoenix, Jaylen Brown is undisputedly the best #7 in todayā€™s NBA (sorry, Killian Hayes). Keep an eye out this offseason, because JB could sign a near-$300 million extensionā€¦ šŸ¤‘

Kyle Lowry

Kyle Lowry had six All-Star appearances and an NBA championship while donning #7 in The Six, but we still think he looks like a 10. šŸ˜

Brandon Roy

One of the biggest ā€œwhat-ifsā€ in NBA history, Brandon Roy was the 2008 Rookie of the Year and made All-Star appearances in his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seasons. He was a highlight machine, with routine crazy moments like this legendary playoff buzzer beater against the Rockets, but unfortunately his string of injuries made his promising career one that never fully bloomed.

Dee Brown

Dee Brown is the coolest player you donā€™t know that you know. If you still canā€™t place the name, heā€™s the guy that pumped up his Reeboks to give him some extra bounce and win the 1991 Dunk Contestā€¦ as a rookie! In the final round, he did a dab-style no-look dunk that would have Gen Z tiktok-ing ā€˜til their thumbs wore out. The swaggiest #7 of all time, if you ask us!

Toni Kukoč

Put some respect on Hall of Famer Toni Kukočā€™s name! The 3X NBA Champ played third fiddle to Jordan and Pippen during the 90s Bullsā€™ second three-peat, and also managed to avoid a punch from Michael Jordan!

Aliyah Boston: Riri Williams (Ironheart)

Those who saw Black Panther: Wakanda Forever were introduced to the character of Riri Williams. She and Indianaā€™s star rookie have a lot of similar qualities; theyā€™re both strong, intelligent forces to be reckoned with who have the potential to be greats!

  1. Atlanta Dream vs Chicago Sky at 8 pm ET on ionTV

Rhyne Howard: Black Panther

(photo via SLAM)

Black Panther is one of my favorite Marvel movies, so itā€™s fitting that this honor goes to young superstar Rhyne Howard. Ever since being drafted first overall to Atlanta last year and becoming an All-Star right off the bat, Howard has quickly found her place in the WNBA. She is the queen of this Dream team, and when itā€™s claws out, sheā€™ll do anything for her squad.

  1. Las Vegas Aces vs Dallas Wings at 8 pm ET on ionTV

Aā€™ja Wilson: Captain Marvel

(photo via Las Vegas Aces)

Captain of the All-Star team, captain of the UNIVERSE! šŸ¤© The reigning MVP and DPOY is unstoppable; she can go through anything, especially in the paint. As the most powerful being in the universe, Aā€™ja Wilson is totally Captain Marvel.

  1. Phoenix Mercury vs Minnesota Lynx at 8 pm ET on ionTV

Brittney Griner: Iron Man/Woman

As the strong, innovative, go-to option, BGā€™s presence is much needed and EVERYTHING runs through her. She is undoubtedly Iron (wo)man. Reply to this email with more Marvel x WNBA/NBA comps!

Frozen Moments

What Weā€™re Enjoying

The Return of ZuckšŸ§µ: Meta launched ā€œThreadsā€ and 30 million people joined, but what got us personally to download it was KDā€™s challenge šŸ˜…

Handshakes in the Hamptons šŸŽ‰: Fanatics CEO and ex-76ers owner Michael Rubin threw an all-white party in the Hamptons, and pretty much every famous person weā€™ve ever heard of was there:

Signing Off

Thatā€™s all for us today. Go pick up a ball and play some hoops at your local gym! That 80-year-old guy in the short shorts? He could be a scout for the Lakers. Or maybe for the Enjoy BBall rec squadā€¦

Trivia Answer: The O-Board leader was Kevon Looney! Surprisingly, rookie Alperen SengĆ¼n was 5th šŸ‘€
