Clippers trade Kawhi Leonard back to Toronto in deal that sends Brandon Ingram to L.A.
Imagine telling a Raptors fan one week ago that in just a week’s time, Kawhi Leonard would be back in Toronto. They would have called you crazy, right? Well, that same crazy is now reality. 😱
The former Raptor, who lead the franchise to its first and only title in 2019 is headed back up north after a mid-afternoon stunner went down on Tuesday.
By dealing Leonard, the Clippers are signaling towards a new era of rebuilding, after playing for championships ever since Kawhi and Paul George’s arrivals back in the summer of 2019. In return for Kawhi, L.A. is receiving Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first round picks in 2031 and 2033, two second round picks, and a pick swap in 2027.
For Toronto, not only do they get to ride the high of emotions of Kawhi coming back, but from a basketball standpoint, they instantly put themselves into the contending tier of squads out east. Most notably, pairing Leonard with All-Star Scottie Barnes is going to be a nightmare for opponents to deal with on both sides of the ball.
Time and time again, the NBA has shown its unpredictability, and Kawhi being traded back to Toronto is simply just another example. Welcome back, Klaw!

LeBron James informs Lakers he will sign elsewhere in Free Agency
For the fourth time, there’s going to be a LeBron James free agency sweepstakes. 🍿
After eight seasons and a championship, LeBron is officially moving on from Lakerland. Through all the ups and downs, so many different teammates, blockbuster trades, etc, the 41 year old future Hall of Famer is ready for his next and likely final chapter of his basketball career.
This begs the question: where will The King be playing next season? 🤔
As it currently stands, the top priority for LeBron is still going to be winning and contending for championships, and he is going to be focusing on happiness as opposed to which team will give him the most money, per Shams. If this is the case, plenty of teams should be in the running for his services….
Will he return to Cleveland for a third and final stint? How about a reunion down in South Beach to team up with Giannis and Bam? Or will he keep his talents out west and sign with a current contender such as OKC or SAS….or even team up with Steph Curry in GS?
Right now, there are so many different possibilities as to where Bron will be next season. It’s only a matter of time before the King reveals his next destination.
Buckle up.

Ja Morant trade saga comes to a close as Memphis sends their star to Portland
Ja Morant has officially found his new home. 👀
After seven seasons in Memphis filled with extremely high highs and some very low lows, the former 2nd overall pick gets to start fresh in Rip City after being traded to the Blazers on Monday.
In return for Morant, Memphis is adding Jerami Grant and Kris Murray. Grant and Murray are both serviceable players, but it’s very rare for someone of Ja’s caliber and talent to be traded for zero All-Star talent or future draft capital in his prime years, and Portland took advantage of the dried out Morant market.
As of today, the Blazers now boast a guard rotation of Morant, Damian Lillard, Jrue Holiday, and Scott Henderson. It’s unclear if the front office will make any additonal moves to sort out this plethora of guard talent, but even if no other moves are made, the Blazers are going to be must-watch TV this upcoming season!
Even though the ending to his Grizzlies tenure wasn’t exactly smooth, Ja Morant will be etched in Grizz history forever as one of the best to don Memphis across his chest. 🙏

Wayback Wednesday: Free Agency Edition
2026 NBA free agency is well underway….and it’s already been packed with news.
To celebrate one of the best periods of the NBA calendar year, let’s take a look back at some of the best/craziest moments in recent Free Agency history! 😎
1996- Young Shaq leaves Orlando for LA:
The Orlando Magic in the early-mid ‘90s with the incredible young duo of Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway were slated to have it all. All they had to do in the summer of ‘96 was pay Shaq his worth, and the potential Shaq-Penny dynasty would live on for years to come. Instead, the Magic front office lowballed their offer….which did not sit right with Shaq and his agent. Lakers GM at the time, Jerry West, caught wind of the rift and immediately swooped in, offering the big man the full max contract Shaq was seeking. Before anyone knew it, he bolted for LA, and the rest was history. With three championships and an MVP in eight years as a Laker, it’s safe to say Shaq made the right call! 😉
2010- LeBron’s Decision Special:
The Free Agency saga of the 2010 offseason was capped off with one of the most iconic moments in league history: The Decision. After seven straight seasons of playoff shortcomings, a 25 year old LeBron James was a UFA for the first time in his career, and the sweepstakes for his services was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. After hundreds of rumors on where he might land, Bron put an end to the speculation with a 30 minute special on national TV that gave us the infamous “I’m taking my talents to South Beach” quote. LeBron joining forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami kickstarted the “Big 3” era, and they immediately became the NBA’s newest villain.
2015- DeAndre Jordan Pump Fakes Dallas:
In the summer of 2015, All-Star center DeAndre Jordan had agreed to leave the Clippers and sign with the Mavs….until he backed out last second. In one of the most unique and bizarre situations the league has ever seen, Jordan was bombarded by his Clippers teammates and staff at his own home and simply wouldn’t leave until he changed his mind and signed on the dotted line to stay in LA. The persuasion worked, and DAJ stayed a Clipper.
2016- KD joins 73-9 Warriors
In May of 2016, Kevin Durant’s Thunder squad lost a heartbreaking seven game series against the historic 73-9, defending champion Warriors. Absolutely no one could have imagined that just five weeks later, KD would be joining that very same team that just eliminated him. Though Durant won two titles and Finals MVPs as a Warrior, many fans still find it hard to give him the full credit for his success in the Bay due to the circumstances in which he joined the team….

Three in the Key
🤝 Like Father, like Son
Tim Hardaway Jr looks awfully like another player who used to play in Miami…
👀 A Sportswide Sweepstakes?
NBA teams aren’t the only ones going after LeBron, apparently. 😂
