Knicks Take the Streets for their Championship Parade
The Knicks returned to NYC for an official parade through the city. NYPD estimated that over 2 million fans lined the city streets to welcome back their hometown team.
Let’s go through some of the highlights from the celebration ⬇️
City Hall Ceremony
Mayor Zohran Mamdani presented the Keys to the City to the team, and dropped some sweet ball knowledge paying homage to some Knicks of the past.
Jalen Brunson expressed his appreciation for the city, and had a message for the doubters along the way (and dropped a new generational quote).
“There's a lot of people who have their own opinions. But when you prove them wrong, you don't have to say s–t to them. They don't deserve it.”
Unmatched Drip
Karl-Anthony Towns came out in a Jeff Hamilton custom jacket celebrating his first chip in style. Won’t even think about how much that jacket costs…
And of course, shoutout to the ‘Lucky Bag’.
Mikal Bridges was rocking his Pacôme Dadiet jersey celebrating with his son, Sonny. 🐶
WE OUTSIDEE ☀️
Jose Alvarado and Josh Hart were giving off some serious Captain Klay vibes here.
Nods to the Past 🫡
Patrick Ewing finally got his hands on the trophy that long eluded him during his days as a player.
“I swear I’m on the team bro!”
In what had to be one of the funniest moments of the entire parade, NYPD stopped Tyler Kolek on the street thinking he was a fan. 😭

🧊 Trae Young Reportedly Declines Player Option
Ice Trae is set to approach free agency after reportedly declining his $49 million player option for next season. It is noted that he intends to sign a longer term deal with the Wizards who plan to back up the Brinks truck. However, Trae will be able to talk to other teams around the league if that deal isn’t signed off right away.

What’s Good in the W?
Olivia Miles. That’s what’s good. Next.
🐺 Lynx remain at the top of the league after lighting up the Sparks 99-83.
Summer in the Northern Hemisphere doesn’t officially start until Sunday, but we’ve been living through the Summer of Olivia Miles. The rook out of TCU has been balling out like crazy since her debut a few weeks ago, and the impressive performances continue. Like Wednesday night, going for 31 points on 12/15 FG.
She’s currently averaging 19.0 PTS per game (on 57% FG, 91% FT 39% 3PT) with 5.7 AST, 4.9 REB, and 2.0 STL/BLK per game. We will be seeing more of this rook at the All-Star Game later this summer.
After bouncing back from their tough loss against the Aces, the Lynx are 12-3 and solidifying themselves as a force at the top of the league. With Napheesa Collier’s return looming, we’ll be looking to see how the rest of the season shakes up.
🐺 Angel Reese and the Dream knock off Caitlin Clark and the Fever 108-101.
In another chapter of the Angel-CC rivalry, Angel Reese and company come out on top. This pushes the Dream into sole possession of second place in the East.
Reese has been on a tear lately, and is putting up Minnesota Kevin Love-esque statlines each night. Reese currently leads the WNBA in rebounds at 12.2 a night!
However in last night’s game, the Dream’s theme for the night was the Power of Friendship, as all five starters put up double figures.
Angel Reese - 21 PTS, 11 REB
Jordin Canada - 18 PTS, 5 AST, 4 STL
Allisha Gray - 17 PTS, 3 AST, 3 STL
Naz Hillmon - 17 PTS, 4 REB
Rhyne Howard - 16 PTS, 6 AST, 5 REB
For anyone counting, the CC-Angel rivalry is now tied up at 6-6.
